Cemetary

We decided to post a separate section for the Cemetario de La Recoleta because it is probably the most beautiful cemetary we have ever seen and is arguable the most beautiful in the world--the number 1 thing not to miss when you come to Buenos Aires. You´ve got to be loaded and extremely well connected to end up here with centuries of the cities social elite including people like Eva Peron or better known as "Evita" It´s like a mini city of lofty statues and marble facades--Incredible!

Your pictures of the cemetery are fantastic. I am so glad you got to see it. The video I checked out from the library about Argentina had shown it somewhat & it looks as though it is as beautiful and interesting as the travelog indicated. Stacy, your pics are really very good. Thanks for sharing them with all of us.

Cemeteries in spanish/italian cultures are a lot different than ours!!!
I used to fly to B.A., starting in the 60's. It has always been one of my favorites for the reasons you articulate. Don't know if it is still the case, but they used to "bumper park". Everyone leaves their transmissions in neutral and when someone can't find a space, they just push all the other cars forward a few feet to make room.
Love, Uncle Rich
